Having spent few years in China, I've had my share of cheap-low-quality trinkets, or expensive-low-quality-but-well-marketed crap, which is why it was all the more refreshing to discover Peony Rice, a line of accessories that is the result of dedicated work, great attention to detail, and most importantly passion.
The current collection of accessories is all handmade and brings delicate shapes to life using beautiful fabric, mostly hand thread silk from Cambodia. It includes headpieces, cover-ups, belts and neck pieces but the brand will expand into woman wear and leather accessories sometime next year. I am not used to wear headpieces myself but after trying some of Peony Rice accesories, I can definitely say they lifted my simple black dress to a new level.
Peony Rice also proves that style and ethics can go together by collaborating closely with NGO and local communities throughout Asia for the production of the collection. The aim is to give those people a chance to a sustainable living while preserving their cultures.
Check out their website to see the current collection or contact them directly for custom orders.
