Elise de Saint Guilhem, formerly a lawyer, arrived in China in 2001 wishing to do something different. With her love of handmade embroidery came the idea of Rouge Baiser Elise, a boutique specializing in household linen opened in 2003.
Bedsheet sets are priced around RMB1,800(depending on the handwork required for the embroidery)
The carefully displayed linens, the use of the best fabrics (silk, linen, cotton, cashmere) and the delicate handmade embroideries all highlight the attention to detail of Rouge Baiser.
Most of the shop is occupied by home textiles but you will also find a small collection of luxurious loungewear for women (cashmere cardigans, silk nightwear…) and a very cute collection of Bonpoint-like child wear.
Rouge Baiser offers two collections every year around a central pattern and/or color (although some items of previous seasons remain by popular demand). It would be useless to try to order something similar at the fabric market, not only because of the handwork involved but simply because it would be impossible to find the same fabric: in order to get the right color palette, fabrics are exclusively dyed for Rouge Baiser.

The shop also lets its clients express their own creativity: should someone want to change a pattern, use linen instead of cotton or prefer non-matching colors for the pillowcases…Rouge Baiser will customize anything and will not add any extra-cost for special orders (unless it requires more embroidery).
