Remember my first visit to Peony Rice's studio last year? Since then, the ethically conscious brand has grown to include not only accessories but also cocktail dresses and a bridal collection.
To develop these new projects, Peony Rice has moved to a great new space located in the former French concession. It serves as a showroom and atelier, where the clothes are made. The bridal collection currently includes 19 designs but should reach 30 in order to offer various styles and cuts that can suit different body shapes.
These dresses can be ordered as such or serve as a inspiration for clients to imagine "add ons". Peony Rice's approach to customizing is very personal, as the designer Pauline puts it: "I need to be able to feel a synergy with my clients. I want to create beautuful styles for the client that would be flattering and elegant, unique with simplicity. Building a relationship with my clients is also very special for me. The journey is one of exploration as well and being able to help the future bride to realise her unique dress for her special day".
As each dress is made to measure, it takes between 1 to 3 months depending on the level of customization and handwork that will go into the dress (beading, embroidery...). Prices vary between RMB10,000 to 30,000.
